US and Mexican citizens can gain quick entry into Canada
Under the North American Free Trade Agreement, US and Mexican citizens can gain quick entry into Canada for a temporary stay to conduct business-related activities or investments.
Intra-company transferee's
Qualified professionals in 60 listed professions may obtain a work permit to join the Canadian affiliate of a US or Mexican firm. In addition, an intra-company transferee who works for a US or Mexican firm in an executive or managerial level, or has specialized knowledge, may obtain a work permit to join that firm's Canadian affiliate.
Traders or Investors can obtain a work permit
NAFTA also allows a trader or investor from the US or Mexico who carries on substantial trade or investment in Canada to obtain a work permit upon meeting certain criteria.
